SUPERFLY

The Bank holiday excess of Easter gives us a four day weekend, and when that happens there’s only one thing for it; Party time.

Superfly are right on the hedonism tip by putting together a huge line-up for an indoor festival that takes advantage of every single night of the chocolate egg munching season; so get ready for four parties of eclectic and far reaching madness!

Specialist deck wreckers and 4 x DMC World Team Champions C2C Beat Torrent will be bringing their superlative aural sound-scaping skills to launch this incredible four night event. Joining them is a special set from wunderkid Drop the Lime, whose raucous stipulations through bass heavy crunk, skittering electro and savage dubstep confirm him as the king of the next shiz. And then there’s an exclusive disco set from dubstep doyen Skream in the second room. Skream is now quite possibly one of the most in demand DJs around. What an opener!

Sonic chanteuse Hannah Holland and nasal voiced Mc Chickaboo joins him in Room One, with support from Beenie & Jadell and Snowbombing’s Marc Roberts.

Saturday sees a Shivoo debut for a character who has been at the cusp of the club’s dream bookings list for a long time coming, with Brazilian drum n bass legend DJ Marky making a debut trip to Leicester. His samba infused rhythms have torn up the domineering conception of what the music stands for, whilst his eclectic capabilities means he often strays beyond the one hour template for jungle DJs, and has even seen him play a selection of epic back to back sets with techno master Laurent Garnier. Manchester’s grimy rhyming Foreign Beggars support him in that room with warbling support from MC Wrec whilst THE surprise special guest gets the second room all to himself.

The final party of the weekend sees the rave come through for a hedonistic finale. Break beat pioneers and all round deck demons The Plump DJs rock up for some bass reverberating ear bleeders and a selection of the most raucous dance floor tunes. But maybe the second room showcases the genius edge of electronica best with an extremely rare set from oddball aural merchant Richard Norris. During the acid house heyday he was one half of the Grid, now he’s making abstract disco with Erol Alkan under the Beyond the Wizard’s Sleeve moniker. On Easter Sunday, he’ll be bringing to close a quite brilliant ensemble of musical talent.
